13 March 2004 ~ the truth is in here

I'm currently watching 'Eve', episode 10 from the first season of The X-Files. I remember the first time I watched it...way back in 1995, almost ten years ago. This was the first episode of the series I really watched, and thus, the one that got me hooked on the show.

I still enjoy watching them, even though I have seen them umpteen times before. It's amazing how many answers to quiz questions I get due to the clever titles given to the episodes. I was watching University Challenge the other week when a question came up about the Greek name for the earth, the moon and the sun being in alignment and whilst the eight braniacs in the teams sat there dumbfounded I was able to say within a second that the answer is syzygy (episode 3.13) - and this has happened countless other times. Likewise with the latin for 'time flies' (episode 4.17) or the novel that features the harpooner Queequeg (eaten in episode 3.22) being Moby Dick, with the X-Files referencing Captain Ahab and Starbuck throughout the entire run.

Ahh, if only I had a girl geek besides me to relish in the memories too.
